Fitchburg ME Federal Credit Union
honored by Children’s Hospital Boston

FITCHBURG, MASSACHUSETTS, June 7, 2006 … Children’s Hospital Boston recently honored Fitchburg ME Federal Credit Union and a number of other sponsors of the Credit Unions of Massachusetts Kids at Heart program as part of a formal dedication of a new family lounge located in the hospital. Over the past 10 years, participants in the Kids at Heart program have raised approximately $2 million, with the lounge being the most recent fundraising focus.

In dedicating the new lounge, Dr. James Mandell, president/chief executive officer for Children’s, unveiled a permanent plaque recognizing Credit Unions of Massachusetts supporters, which reads: “Given with love to families of Children’s Hospital. May you find comfort and relaxation while your loved ones get better.” The family lounge is designed as a place where families can relax and spend some time away from the normal hospital environment.

“We’re pleased to participate in the Kids at Heart program,” said Barbara Goodwin, Fitchburg ME president and CEO. “Fundraising for Children’s Hospital Boston brings out the best of credit unions’ people-helping-people philosophy.”

Throughout the year, Fitchburg ME participates in a number of fundraising activities and special events to benefit the Kids at Heart program to support the work of the hospital.
